About Rekane: Well my first character I made was alliance, I put no thought into his name.
Teague, Kaur and Shav convinced me to roll horde after about 10 minutes of convincing one night.
I made Ulgrim Stonefist. I wanted to wear plate and at the time Warriors were the only ones. I chose his race first. I chose an Orc because I felt they had been persecuted by the Alliance as being bad when the humans were the more evil ones. Next I needed a strong name, having given up Asheron's Call not long after release I went with Ulgrim. The character in AC was named "Ulgrim the Unpleasant". He was known for his knowledge, skill and well...unpleasantness. I thought it was a good fit for me.
Next I needed a healer again, so I created a Priest, Vashun. Nothing special here, started with a random name and modified it to seem more troll like.
Then I created Asguard the shaman. If you are familiar with mythology you will recognize that Asgard is the home of all the norse gods. Thought it would be pretty cool for someone of elemental nature to have a elemental god name.
I made Cyrasou next. I was thinking of Final Fantasy's Cyan at the time and just made it sound Tauren like. (moved this char to another server to make room for the DK)
I was pretty pissed off at warlocks in the BG's when I created my bank alt. I called him Malestor (not molestor) Anyway someone reported it and I changed it to Blackburn, sounded undead warlocky and still maintained my RP name flow.
I created my mage with one of my older MMO names, I had always used Jenoba. I had founded the name by looking at an Atlas in class. I noticed there was a port named Genova near Italy. Modified it with a J and a b and the name fit. The character was originally intended as a Blademaster but only had a mage spot left.
Rekane was originally intended as Kain (FF2 or 4 depending how many you had access to). Kain was taken, I had been watching international news at the time I heard someone mention something about a village near yugoslavia and it was called Rekane. I loved it and wondered why I didn't piece the clever name together myself. :)
The other names I have had are of intrinsic importance. I play on 2 other servers and rolled an alliance char for this server as well when I need a timeout.
