Charter Introduction

Where do Outcasts come from? What does my rank mean? How in Azeroth does a guild with no single leader operate? And how does a guild like this remain drama free and not feel like a job? Answers to these and more can be found right here in the Outcast Guild Charter Wiki.
All Charter items are subject to discussion, but not subject to modification until the proper ranking guild members have voted for the change.

Common Goal

The Common Goal of the Outcast Order is to bring Honor to our daily interactions here on Earthen Ring, as well as striving to be the best our Characters can be in EVERY aspect of the game. The Outcast Order guild tag lets people know they are questing with a seasoned player of World of Warcraft; able to listen to instructions, while also being leaders when need be; Outcast Members should be viewed as Legendary Players, and as such Outcast members are expected to live up to nothing short of Legendary.

Outcast Order Rank Structure and Leadership

Leadership Type

The Outcast Order is a Democracy; as a Legendary member of Earthen Ring your voice counts as much as anyone’s and OO is a Guild lead by all its members. No one person has the ability to dramatically alter the way the guild is ran- giving Outcast a stability most have never seen within guild politics. The guild is run by the Circle of Wisdom, a Council which consists of all players of Chosen and Pathfinder rank, with counsel from Wayfarers where applicable. Depending on the issue, voting will either happen behind the scenes within the Circle of Wisdom, such as Raiding issues, etc, while open guild issues such as tabard design for example will be voted on by every member of the guild.

Issues and Discussion

Any issue pertaining to the way the guild is run, and which events we take part in can be freely discussed by any member of the guild should they feel like it - using our guild forums. Open discussions in guild chat about certain issues, while allowed, generally will not get the same exposure to the rest of the guild as a discussion within our forums, so it's stressed that you do so there under the applicable forum area.

Ranks

It's important to understand what your rank means, what your rank can access via the website, and what chat channels they can see/use, so feel free to remind yourself here with this ranking structure, from highest to lowest:
Chosen | Pathfinder | Wayfarer | Vagabond | Nomad | Wanderer | Rover
Special Ranks:
God Father | Gallivanter | Marauder

Recruitment and Absence

Joining

To become a member of Outcast Order, one must first read the entire Guild Charter (that's what you are reading now), and then follow the rest of the steps in the Guild Recruitment wiki.

Once you fill out an application the members of Outcast Order will have a chance to look over your application for three days, and then Pathfinders and Chosen take all the responses and make a final decision. After which, you will either be asked politely to try again at a later date, with reasons attached, or you will be welcomed into our guild, a new and shiny Rover.

Rover is a probationary rank for a period of two (2) months, in which the members of Outcast Order have a chance to get to know you. It is encouraged that you are active during this time and take part in whatever is happening within the guild during your probationary period.

At the end of the Rover probationary period, if all has gone well, you will be promoted to Wanderer if you DO NOT use a Battle.net Authenticator or Nomad if you DO.

Leaving

There are two ways to leave Outcast Order, you either leave honorably, or you leave dishonorably.

Leaving dishonorably means quitting without warning, because of a dispute or argument, or because of your removal from a Circle of Wisdom member; if this occurs the doors to Outcast Order will have closed to you for good and reapplication to the guild will not be considered. Additionally, the other prominent horde guilds will be notified of your actions so that they won’t also have to deal with your dishonor. Earthen Ring is a closed community, and this isn’t a game of one- if you leave a guild such as Outcast dishonorably, your game play experience on this server will be changed for good.

Leaving honorably means you did so with class, warning, and within reason. This could be because you feel you would like to join a more intense guild or you would like a long break from the game for example. If you leave honorably the warm doors to the Outcast home are left open to you and your reapplication can be fast tracked. When you return, you will have to start our internal ranking system all over again.

Active Recruiting

The Outcast Order recognizes the need to have a large member base to accomplish larger goals, but how we recruit must also follow our legendary attitude. Prospective new guild members might arise at anytime during our game play, so all Outcast Member’s are expected to play, quest, party, and raid with the highest level of class anyone can possibly play with it.

No member of Outcast Order is currently authorized to spam any channel nor post a recruitment message on the Earthen Ring forums regardless of rank or seniority; If such an action is required only ONE authorized guild member will do so and within the guide lines given to them. When they are requested to stop this action, they are expected to do so immediately.

Outcast members are also not permitted to ask players who have shown no interest in joining the guild during game play - this is viewed as disrespectful and rude, which an Outcast member is of course not. If a player does approach a member who would like to join the brotherhood of Outcast, they are free to present them with their view of the guild, any specifics they know, and if serious, they are more then free to forward them to the recruitment thread or a Circle of Wisdom member if they have more questions.

Absence

If guild members know in advance that they will be taking an absence from the game for whatever reason, they are asked to bring it to the attention of a Pathfinder or Chosen so that they may mark your guild tag with an 'inactive main' tag. Failure to notify an officer before an extended absence can result in removal from the guild.

Double User Accounts

Sharing accounts / Characters between two or more people is not permitted in Outcast Order, and is against game policy. This creates unnecessary confusion for guild members, provides an incorrect count within our guild census, and is a security risk on your account.

Changing Account Owner

If you choose to give your account to a friend, family member, etc because you do not wish to play anymore, you are asked to remove your main and ALL your alts from the guild. If it's discovered after the fact that a new person is playing your old account, officers will remove the main and all corresponding alts for that account. Membership in the guild is on an account by account basis, not by character; As such a new owner of an account must reapply to be part of the guild, as it was YOU who was recruited in, not them.

PvE

Solo

Try to be respectful of other players in the game. Treat them how you would expect to be treated if your situations were reversed.

Partying

Our small instance encounters represent the crème of the hilarity crop. Outcast Order members stomp on these instances and are always enjoyable for every player and class regardless of whether they wear our tabard or not. If a player is in the party from outside the guild, we expect them to know they are in for a more then fun and humorous run and ask them to have a phone near by if their laughter induces health problems!

Outcast member’s who are unsure of instances are recommended to ask within the guild for pointers as most member’s have ran these instances so many times they can do them with their eyes closed from another room using a remote control helicopter.

There are few simple guide lines we ask our members to follow on all small instance runs to ensure everyone has an enjoyable time:

Loot Rules

Be sure everyone is aware of the current loot rules; don’t save them until an important item drops.

Loot Assignment

Be sure loot is assigned accordingly to those who need the items, sort out greed’s only when you are sure there is no need for that item.

Know your Role

Be aware of what your classes responsibilities are for a run, for example, if you are the only healer type, heal! If you are one of more then one warrior on the run, discuss who should tank! If you are a crowd control class, discuss symbol assignments!

Attitude

Always stay positive! Wipe or not a run should be a fun experience; be the better player and support your raid or party rather then putting them down.

Sample Loot Rules:

  • Pass on ALL BoP
  • Roll Greed on ALL BoE of blue or higher quality, that is not an upgrade.
  • Roll Need on ALL BoE of blue or higher quality, that is an upgrade.
  • Roll Need on ALL of your current profession recipes if you require them
  • Roll Greed on ALL BoE Recipes that you cannot use.
  • Roll Greed on ALL Green Items (Including essences, scourge stones, etc...)
  • Boss Fights should be on Master Looter

Raiding

Outcast Order lead large scale Raids are expected to be lead with great skill, knowledge, and enjoyment. Our Raid Leaders are very understanding and only become intolerant if a Raid member blatantly ignores the universal Outcast Raid encounter rules listed below.

Loot Rules

Progressive Raid

Progressive Raids require your character to be a Main, unless asked by the Raid Leaders to bring another class for a specific encounter.

A progressive Raid is an instance that is not on farm status. Farm status is considered to be when instance encounters are consecutively successful.

The loot rules have been defined to be, in order:

  • Need Main spec:
    • In your current Raiding primary spec you are allowed to roll need when an item is an upgrade for you.
    • You can only win once against another player rolling need.
    • Priority given to Mains over Alts
  • Need Off-spec:
    • In your current(raiding spec, cannot be a PVP spec) secondary spec you are allowed to roll need when an item is an upgrade for that spec.
    • You can only win once against another player rolling need.
    • Priority given to Mains over Alts
  • Greed:
    • If an item is an upgrade or situational item for either primary or secondary spec you are allowed to roll greed.
    • You can win as many greed rolls as your dice allow.
  • Shard:
    • All BoP gear, not awarded, will be disenchanted and the resulting shards will be placed in the guild bank. Also, BoE gear not awarded will be placed in the guild bank.

Universal Outcast Raid Rules

  • Raid Channel - Raid Chat (‘/ra’,'/rw’,’/rs’) is to be used for Raid Encounter information ONLY, such as directions, pull warnings, loot assignments, etc. A simple rule of thumb: If you are not a raid assistant or leader, don’t use the channel!
  • Outcast Order Channel – The common channel ‘outcastorder’ is the channel we request raid members to use when asking for water, buffs, summoning, being silly, etc. Doing so lets the raid leaders continue to lead uninterrupted and speeds the run up considerably.
  • Whispers – Do NOT whisper (‘/w’) the raid leaders unless what your whispering is absolutely, positively necessary! Their chat windows are already flooded up with so much coordination and plug-in text that they might explode. Bring your lesser concerns up within the ‘outcastorder’ channel.
  • Listen to your Raid Leader – Your raid leader takes in overall encounter information and turns it into actions you should be doing during the encounter, such as healing targets, tanking assignment, etc; some encounters there is little to no room for error so please pay close attention to your specific channel!
  • Be prepared to Raid!!! – Come with all equipment repaired, plenty of reagents, and any required potions! Failure to do so can either slow the raid or worse yet; result in your removal from the raid for that night.
  • Do NOT confuse your Role – If you have been assigned to cast, or not cast a specific spell or ability, don’t do it! Members who consistently disobey role assignments (tanks, crowd control, etc), risk endangering the success of the run; be mindful of the raid leader’s explanations and your class leader’s assignments.
  • Progression – Be aware of the guild’s progression as a whole and trust the judgment of the Raid Leaders as to what instances we should be running. If they say we are not ready to start a new encounter or instance, then we are not ready to start a new encounter or instance! If you feel our current progression is not where you feel is should be you are free to bring your concern up to the Guild Officers.

Raid Channels

Each class has a specific channel they are required to join while in a raid regardless of spec, and are free to stay within that channel outside of raid's to watch current dialog of raid's in progress, or for members of the class type to joke around with each other- Just remember, save the fooling around for when it's appropriate.

Outcast Order uses Role Channels to reduce chat over head and simplify things for guild members with alts who wish to be part of more then one channel.

  • Healer types: Druid, Paladin, Priest, Shaman
    • Channel Name: OOHealers
  • Tanks & Melee: Warrior, Rogue
    • Channel Name: OOTanks
  • Ranged: Mage, Warlock, Hunter
    • Channel Name: OORanged

(Remember: To join a channel, simply type '/join channelname'. You type within these channel's the same way you would do so if you were using General, Trade, LookingForGroup, etc by typing a slash and whatever the number was which was assigned to the channel, for example, healer's might take part in their discussions by typing: '/6 Blah blah blah')

PvP

The Outcast Order is a proud member of the Horde- Our brethren are fearless in battle with the highest level of honor imaginable. When Alliance trouble makers see our tabard in battle we expect them to flee or meet their death quickly. Our guild member’s stay honorable during Battle by following simple guide lines to ensure the fun game play for our members, as well as our enemies.

Infractions

During ANY PvP runs, whether it is solo, party, raid, battleground, or an arena, no member of Outcast will take part in the following actions at anytime:

Corpse Camping

Generally you should have better things to do then camp a fool’s corpse, we ask that you be the better player and leave them be after death

Blue Walling

Blue walling is discouraged but not punishable. If the enemy did not wish to be attacked he would not have been flagged.

Emote or Language Spamming

Doing so is childish and serves no purpose, there is never a need for such an action.

Grave Yard Camping and Honor Farming

Camping a graveyard within a battleground is silly and serves no meaningful purpose as the honor you gain from killing someone is weak and deteriorates anyways. There is never a need to do something so foolish- Winning or getting into another match quickly will always yield much more honor.

Exploiting

Sometimes PvP exploits are exposed and no member of Outcast is to be seen using them; our members are skilled and honorable and would never tip the balance of a match by cheating.

Roleplaying

Earthen Ring is of course a Role Playing server, and we should all be proud of the unique and fun individuals who go out of their way to make the game feel so much more in-depth. RP is fun, you are more then welcome to act as your character, all we ask is that it is done in a context which makes sense and will not cause problems; ei, keep it out of raid and party chat, and that you don't ever condemn someone for RPing otherwise. We encourage all our creative guild member’s to brighten our days at work and away from warcraft by taking part in the Role-playing area on our forums.

Enhancement

Guild members who wish to expand their RP experience are invited to add ‘FlagRSP’ or ‘FlagRSP2’ to their game plugins to see the creative full names, titles, and outward appearances of other characters.

Outcast Guild Communications

Guild Chat

Guild Chat is not heavily enforced to follow any guidelines currently beyond respecting your fellow members, no spamming, and that you keep Guild chat conversations within a PG13 range; Filter or not, the context of some conversations can go to far- remember since most of our guild members are adults, little eye's could be watching them play :)

Please Note however: Do everything in your power NOT to ask for raiding times within guild chat- You are expected to find this information out yourself on this website BEFORE you login.

Auctioneer add-on price check calls are welcome to be done within guild chat, so if you see a guild member type something like: ‘?[Some item]’, they are not going nuts or asking an opinion, it’s just an auctioneer price check call.

As an additional note to take into consideration, when looking for guild member’s to come on small runs with you, don’t ask them repeatedly or expect them to go just because- some times people only have limited time, wish to play solo, etc.

Guild Chat is pretty much a blank slate for mayhem as long as you keep it reasonable and obey the above rules; and since Raid Channels are to be kept so strict, who can blame you? :) Have fun with your guild mates!

OO Forum Usage

Our own guild forums are run on the free phpbb foundation and are administered and moderated by selected guild members. All guild members must register on these forums to be able to sign up on the Guild’s Raid signup system. Once registered you are free to post as you will; taking part in on going discussion, posting new topics, placing your creative stories into the role-playing section, sign up for special events, etc.

We ask that no one advertise anything not game related, that all guild members respect each other’s point of view on different topics, and that you do your best to post new topics in the forum which best represents the topic. Topic removal or modification is up to the discretion of the moderators and site administrators.

WoW Community Forum Usage

Outcast Members are free to take part in Earthen Ring forum discussions, but we ask that no one ‘Feed the Trolls’. Our ‘don’t feed the trolls’ policy helps to protect not only your integrity, but our guild integrity, and our server’s integrity. Don’t stir up touchy subjects or flame anyone; post with the class and respect only an Outcast member could post with.

If in the event a topic arises on these forums which would require an official response back from the guild as a whole, you are asked to first notify the Circle of Wisdom and bite your tongue. The Circle of Wisdom will discuss the topic and prepare an official post to be left by a selected Circle of Wisdom member. If the post also involves a specific guild member, the Circle of Wisdom will discuss with that member the best possible response should they desire counsel and if it’s necessary. Regardless of the topic, always remember that you are a legendary member of Outcast and are expected to uphold that in all your forum responses.

VoIP

The Outcast Order's Team Speak 3 server address is 'ts2.outcastorder.com port 9987' should you choose to use it. While registration is not required, it is recommended; To do so, simply let a server admin know and they will fill in the rest of the details. One of the great perks of a guild is Teamspeak or Vent; they allow for very fast and exact communication during parts in the game which don't exactly give you time to type orders in depth. Our Teamspeak server is a privilege and you must adhere to the rules on it's usage to be able to use it.

Regular TS3 Channels

All Channels, unless stated otherwise with an R rating, MUST NOT have any vulgar language in them at anytime! The reason: Although the majority of us are adults, some of us have children, who because of their Teamspeak setup, can hear our conversations. It's not their responsibility to move the computer to the attic and sound proof the ceiling, it's our responsibility to behave like classy adults. Sexual innuendos are fine, in your face vulgar insults and swearing are not. Please learn to bite your tongue or learn a more classy way to get your vulgar points across.

Rated R Channels

If you just can't contain yourself, you are more then welcome to come down to one of the rated R channels! Anything goes in these channels short of death threats, terrorism plots, and 900 number call girls. Come on down if you think you are ready for the buffoonery...

During Raids

Raid Leaders use the TS3 Server to coordinate their raid tactics and give instructions to the raid. During these times the raid will move to the correct room, such as Raiding. If you are not part of the run, you are free to join the channel to listen- If you bother the raid, TS3 admin's will remove you from the channel.

Alternate Character Policy

Alternative Characters are allowed within The Outcast Order; Chosen and Pathfinder's will have their Alts marked with the Chos.Alt or Path.Alt Rank, and this is just so they have some simple control without having to be on their mains. Besides the chosen and pathfinders, there are no special alt ranks, your alt will share the same rank as you do.

To get proper guild roster reports, we ask that your player note says main somewhere on your main, and the word alt appears somewhere on your alt's player notes. If it is not marked we ask that you notify a Chosen or a Pathfinder that you wish to have alt or main marked in your player note. "But it would cause a miss count in the Census! A miss count!" ~Homer Simpson

Altcast Order

Altcast Order is our Alt guild for seldom played characters. Please contact an Officer if you wish to move some of your in-active characters.
