Rogues in a Nutshell

Rogues are a lightly armored melee class capable of dealing massive damage to their enemies in a flurry of attacks. They are masters of stealth and assassination, passing by enemies unseen and striking from the shadows, then escaping from combat in the blink of an eye. Rogues can also craft poisons that damage or cripple their enemies, reducing their effectiveness in battle. Groups will find rogues valuable, for not only do they deal massive damage, but they can open locked doors or chests, and disarm hidden traps as well.

Class Leader

Mordan is the Rogue class lead. There is currently no Assistant Class Lead.

Player responsibilities

Raiding Rogues

  • If you intend to raid please be prepared to invest the proper amount of time and gold involved in doing it properly. This includes consumables, enchants, and talent builds that facilitate maximum dps. Links provided here are a good start. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask. You may be asked to bring flasks for the non-farm bosses. This is part of the territory. 50G repairs bills happen. Just remember that I will not ask you bring something that I wouldn't be bringing myself.

  • Respect the raid leaders and follow their instructions. Their jobs are tough enough as it is. If you get bumped from a raid, don't take it personally. Rogues are guaranteed only 2 spots in all 25 mans, just like every other class. If class balance or raid requirements permits, we may get more. As I have been helping leading/calling raids, this means that there may just be only 1 spot for other rogues, especially on new boss nights. I will try to work you in as best I can, sitting myself out if possible.

  • Sign up for any raid you think you can attend no matter how many people or rogues have already signed up. Since we are a casual guild, something may come up and you may be able to jump in a spot at any time. This also helps the Class Leader gauge your interest in raiding.

  • Follow the Guild Charter. If you have a problem with something going on and you don't know what to do about it. Ask me. If there is something that you're not sure of, Ask me. I'm an officer as well as a Class Leader and can get your problems taken care of or get you an answer to your question if it is not currently defined by the charter.

Moving Up the Priority List

Primary List

1. Must be level 70.

2. Must be keyed for the instances that we currently are running. Getting guild runs for keys should not be a big problem with our guild size.

3. Must meet the minimum gear requirements for running the top end raids that OO is currently involved. Currently must be in lvl 70 blues and mostly Karazhan epics at minimum for the soon to come SSC push.

4. Decent resists (TBD when we find out what we need)

5. Must sign up regularly while in the Secondary list and have good attendance when you do sign up.

6. Once on the Primary list. If you become in-active for more than a month without prior notification, we may bump you down to the Secondary list to make room for another rogue.

If you are a lvl 70 main and are not on the Primary list above, and are capable of fulfilling the requirements listed above, and there is room for more, PM Mordan on the forums or Send him an in game mail. If you can make the requirements, you will be bumped up accordingly.

Secondary List

1. Must be level 70.

2. Must be a Main. (reasons below)

If you are a lvl 70 main and are not on the Secondary list above, PM Mordan on the forums or Send him an in game mail. If you can make the requirements, you will be bumped up accordingly.

Tertiary List

1. Must be 60+. (You will have to be level 70 to run the raids)

2. Alts are allowed at this level.

If you are 60+ and want on the Tertiary List, alts or mains, PM Mordan on the forums or Send him an in game mail. If you can make the requirements, you will be bumped up accordingly.

Important Note: Please sign up for all raids you will be able to attend, even if it appears that there are more rogues than spots available. This will allow us to determine your level of interest when considering a move up the Priority Lists. It should not be uncommon for Tertiary list rogues to get raid spots. Ex. Pachet (Mordan's Shaman Alt) is not on the Priority list for shamans and received 4 epics from MC just by showing up and being able to fill in as needed.

Important Note #2: Your Rank within the guild does not matter as it applies to the Rogue raiding and priority list. A rover can be on the Primary list, a Vagabond can be on the Secondary list. If you meet the requirements and there is an opening, any non-alt lvl 70 rogue can apply for an open primary position. The only time a guild rank will come into play is in the case of an absolute tie when multiple rogues apply for a single priority slot. I.e. a Rover and a Nomad are equally geared and equally committed to the raid both apply for a single opening on the primary list. In this case, the spot will most likely go to the nomad, as they have had more time in the guild.

Alt Policies

1. Mains will get picked before Alts. The only reasons an alt may be taken over a main is if the main lacks resists/gear and will be a liability in the run, or the main is not keyed for the instance. (i.e. a Karazhan geared Alt vs. a freshly dinged 70 Main in greens for 25 man raids) 2. Alts may sign up as normal, knowing the rules above.

Rogue Rotation System

Progression Raids

Currently in effect for Gruul's Lair, Zul'Aman, Magtheridon's Lair, and SSC.

Each Tier of the Primary List will act as a Suicide Kings Rotation list.

1. Primary slots rotate amongst the Primaries. If they go on a raid, they drop to the bottom of the list in the Primary section.

2. Secondaries rotate amongst the secondaries. If they go a raid, they drop to the bottom of the list in the Secondary section. Same works for Tertiary if required.

3. When you are bumped up or down a tier (i.e. from Secondary to Primary, or Primary to secondary) you start at the bottom of the list.

For example. Say the primary list looks like this.

1. Miseree
2. Mordan
3. Hellschild

Miseree and Mordan go on a raid. They both get bumped to the bottom. The new primary list will be

1. Hellschild
2. Miseree
3. Mordan

Non-Progression Raids

Currently in effect for Karazhan. This is intended for farm status or entry level instances. Gruul's will be added here when a few SSC bosses enter farm status. All rogues are eligible for this.

Rules for this are simple. If you go on a raid, you go to the bottom. Raid Leaders should take the highest person on the list that signed up for your raid. Mains should always go before Alts regardless of position. New members or people not currently on the list go on the bottom and work their way up.

If Raid rules state that a person in the first night of a multi night raid are automatically invited for the second night of that raid, then that trumps the rotation list. I believe all 3 Karazhan raids now follow this policy.

List set (3/07/08)

  • Vando (alt.)
  • Hinglo
  • Beetles (Karazhan G2 1/13)
  • Miseree (Karazhan G1 1/17) (MIA)
  • Kalaz (Karazhan 02/09/08)
  • Hellschild (Karazhan G1 3/24/08)
  • Flattus (Karazhan 03/30/08)
  • Hush (alt.) (Karazhan G3 4/5/08)
  • Malloyke (alt.) Karazhan G3 4/5/08
  • Crozetego (Karazhan 4/6/08)
  • Fieriona (Karazhan 4/7/08)
  • Boogeyman (Karazhan 4/14/08)
  • Mordan (Karazhan 4/21/08)

Gear Requirements

Low End Gear Requirements for Entry into instance.

For a listing of ALL rogue gear and drop locations, use http://www.shadowpanther.net/ It is such a complete and thorough listing that I'm not even going to bother listing it here.

Karazhan

Karazhan is the entry level raid. Gear requirements are more lax here than in the rest of the raids. Level 65+ Blue quest gear, level 70 pvp gear, plus drops out of the 5 man non-heroic instances is a good start. You should be able to make 8k HP and 1.0k-1.2k AP Unbuffed without gimping yourself before going in.

Gruul's Lair

Gruul's Lair is the Entry 25 man raid. Gear requirements are the same as Karazhan. By this point, you should be capable of 1.2-1.3k AP with 8.5k HP without buffs.

Zul'Aman

Zul'Aman is the 2nd Tier 10 Man Raid. Gear requirements are more strict than Karazhan. You should have at least 1/2 your character in Karazhan, Heroic or, Arena PVP gear. The rest should be level 70 blues or equivalent.

Magtheridian's Lair

2nd Level 25 man Raid. Karazhan, Gruul and Zul'Aman level gear required. 1.3-1.5k AP and 9k HP should be normal here.

Serpent Shrine Cavern

2nd Level 25 man Raid. T5 drops here. Should be in mostly T4 or equivalent. High quality level blues also acceptable in certain slots (i.e. Ranged/trinkets etc.)

Consumables

Long Lasting Potions for Battle

  • Elixir of Major Fortitude (Guardian) Only Guardian worth it for rogues.
  • Onslaught Elixers (Battle) Combat/Sub Builds (Bring at least 10)
  • Elixir of Major Agility (Battle) Assassination/SF builds (Bring at least 10)
  • Flask of Relentless Assault (Battle/Guardian). You may be asked to bring flasks to new 25 man bosses. This is the one to bring.

Short Term Potions

  • Super Healing Potions (At least 2 Stack, maybe 3)
  • Major Healing Potions (1-2 stacks)
  • Haste Potion (Good for Quick DPS Bursts)

Food

  • Spicy Crawdad (+30 Sta)
  • Grilled Mudfish (Fishing)
  • Warp Burger (Farming)
  • Any food that gives high +Sta or +Agi, two great stats for rogues.

Itemable Buffs

  • Poisons
    • Please carry a stack of each, MH Instant DP Off unless you are swords and have WF totems. Mind Numbing and Crippling needed for a couple of bosses. Anesthetic poison optional, because you won't be pulling aggro because of your poisons.
